Centering Belonging

“Artists give voice to movements. Embrace them, support them and make space for them. Your community will benefit.”

Jay Dick, Senior Director of State and Local Affairs, Americans for the Arts and Ruby Lopez Harper, Senior Director of Local Arts Advancement, Americans for the Arts.

The Project

Our hope is that while supporting Black artists, this project will open up our cultural space and spark important, community-wide dialogue.

The Artists

“The role of the artist is exactly the same as the role of the lover. If I love you, I have to make you conscious of the things you don't see.” - James Baldwin

The Jurists

The Public Black Art Committee at Serenbe selected an independent jury to ensure a fair selection process for the commissioned work. Our jurists include visual artists, an expert on biophilia, academics, curators, a collector and dealer of African American art, individuals with prior experience jurying public art and community residents who understand Serenbe’s values. The jury will be supported by the Fulton County Public Art Conservator.
